The 1995 Farmington graduate played four sports for the Tigers (cross country, soccer, basketball, baseball), earning All-Southeastern League honors in all four. He is best remembered for his basketball and baseball exploits. A three-year member of the varsity, he formed a superb backcourt in 1993-94 and 1994-95 with Josh Lee, leading the Tigers to the Class M semis as a junior and the quarters as a senior. As sophomore, Shaun and lee came off the bench to help the Tigers advance to the semis. Shaun was named team MVP as a senior, averaging 14.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5 assists and 3.2 steals a game. “Like good point guards, he understood how to make other guys better,” said Shaun’s hoop coach, Hall of Famer Mike Lee. “He was a leader, competitive, a sportsman and ultimate team player.”  In baseball, he was a four-year starter as a pitcher and shortstop. He led Farmington to the 1995 Class M final, losing to Hinsdale, 3-2. He batted .448 as senior with 21 stolen bases and 31 runs. He was a team captain and MVP. He attended Northeastern University for civil engineering, married his high school sweetheart, Michelle Telles. The Lovers live in Bow with their three sons: Shaun Jr., Ryan and Brady. Shaun is the son of Hall of Famer, Larry Lover, who passed away earlier this year.
