The Parents played important roles with the Farmington 500 Club in the 1980s and the 1990s, getting started, as many did, when their children (Danny, Jason and Erica) were old enough to play youth sports. Ralph did some youth baseball coaching with Keenan Skillins, and both Parents spent many hours working in the concession stand. Ralph went on to become the 500 treasurer, while Judy was the secretary. “Ralph was very good at keeping the books, and could tell you where every cent came from and where it was spent,” said Judy, who as secretary kept the minutes of the 500 Club meetings. “We were glad to be part of the 500 Club, helping it to be there for all the Farmington boys and girls,” Judy said. When Hurricane Katrina hit Mississippi in 2005, the Parents’ granddaughters, Dara and MaLeigha, came to stay with them in Farmington. In the spring, the two girls played T-ball and youth baseball, the third Parent generation to benefit from the 500 Club. The Parents are retired and live in Lady Lake, Florida.
