Josh played three sports at Farmington HS, graduating in 1995. But it was on the basketball harwood that he excelled, playing for his dad, Hall of Famer Mike Lee. A three-year member of the Tiger varsity, Josh led Farmington to three tournament berths, which included two trips to the Class M final four. As a junior he was named Class M All-State honorable mention, and as a senior he was picked to the first team, averaging 13.1 points and 6.5 assists per game to go with 164 rebounds. “Unselfish player,” is how his coach and dad, Mike Lee, described Josh. “He made other players better; exceptional passer/decision-maker. He understood ‘how to play.’” Josh later played three years at now defunct Notre Dame College in Manchester, twice earning All-Mayflower Conference honors as a two-time captain. As a junior he was ranked in the top-10 nationally in assists in NAIA Division II. He ended his career averaging 12.5 points, 6.5 assists and 6.0 rebounds per game. He did all this despite suffering two serious knee injuries. After earning a Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Franklin Pierce University in 2006, Josh opened ACTION Sports & Physical Therapy in his hometown of Wolfeboro in 2007. Since 2006, he has been an assistant coach with the Brewster Academy boys basketball team, which over that stretch has won five New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) championships and seven national prep championships, the most recent in 2020.
