Kristy’s athletic journey is of note because she started her high school career at neighboring Nute High School as a junior high student. She played three years for the Rams before transferring to Farmington as a sophomore. She was a three-year star for the Tigers in basketball and volleyball, leading the teams to the tournament in all three years and teaming up with fellow inductee, Jill Langis Moulton. She was a multiple-year All-State performer in both sports, totaling 1,848 career points in basketball, divided between Nute and Farmington. “Her drive and desire to improve was truly impressive,” said then Farmington coach Cheryl Peabody. “It isn’t easy to switch to a rival team. Our Lady Tigers had such great respect for her even before she transferred, that they welcomed her with open arms. She fit in immediately and was a Tiger from the moment she stepped foot onto the court.” After graduating in 1996, Kristy was recruited to attend and play basketball at what is now Southern New Hampshire University where she earned a BS in Business Administration. In her four years at SNHU, an NCAA Division II school, Kristy scored 1,099 career points and made 184 career 3-pointers, which is second all-time at the school. Kristy later earned associate and bachelor degrees in nursing. She has been a registered nurse for 14 years. Kristy is currently a neurosurgery operating room nurse at Beth Israel Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, Mass. She lives in Nashua with her husband, Michael.
