A 1970 graduate of Farmington High School Diane was a standout three-sport athlete in volleyball, basketball and softball. As a sophomore, she played an integral role on those sports teams, which featured Hall of Famers Linda Ghareeb, Sandi Tilton, Candy Whalen and the late Gloria Vachon, that went undefeated during the 1967-68 school year in three sports. “I would call her a spitfire,” Ghareeb said. “She would create opportunities and steal the ball. She was quick.” Diane said of those teams: “Not only were these individuals good players, but more importantly they were kind, supportive and caring people. Everyone was valued and worked to make a successful team.” Diane attended Plymouth State University, majoring in elementary education. She taught in Farmington for three years and moved to Milton, Vt., where she currently teaches Grade 2. Diane has been a teacher for over 40 years. Her husband, Tony, is a Farmington Hall of Fame inductee. They have twin boys, Trevor and Scott.
