You cannot talk about girls basketball in the late 1980s without bringing up the Sirois sisters. The two played critical roles in the success of the program under coach Cheryl Chase Peabody, along with other girls like Lynette Mosher, Julie Gagne, Kelly LaPointe, Jen Gilman and Allyson McBride. The sisters played basketball and softball at an early age right up through high school. Both were four-year members of the Tiger varsity hoop and softball teams. The two were on the 1986-87 team that went 14-6 and won the program’s first playoff game in the NHIAA era.. They were also on the 1987-88 team that was 18-0 during the regular season and advanced to the Class M semis. Holly (1988 grad) was a Class M first-team all-state and was named to three Farmington Christmas Tournament all-tournament teams. “Holly was a strong, confident athlete,” coach Peabody recalled. “She would encourage her teammates, while pushing them to give their all. She didn't just play the game, she lived it. She participated in our early morning workout sessions, she coached in the youth programs, she scouted teams with me and during every drill, she gave 100 percent of herself. On the court, she was a powerhouse. She loved to drive hard to the basket, as well as shoot the long-bomb with her two handed shot. She was a tenacious defender.  Her quick hands made it very easy for her to snatch the ball from her opponents”  Heidi, an outstanding point guard and 1989 grad, was all-state honorable as a senior and was named to the All-Christmas tournament team. Heidi helped to lead Farmington to its only state championship appearance in 1989, a 61-59 overtime loss to Mascoma Valley. :Heidi, much like her big sister, was a tenacious defender,” coach Peabody said. “Her defensive prowess was key to our full court press.  Most of Heidi's points were layups from when she stole the ball and drove to the basket. In the half-court, Heidi was content to be the play-maker. She was a gifted point guard that was comfortable in making sure everyone else got the ball in the best position possible to score. She was a quiet leader and a fierce competitor.” Influential coaches for the sisters included Peabody, Zeke Ghareeb and Butch Lewis. Heidi lives in Florida  with her fiancee, Carmen, and two daughters. Cherise, 17, an avid softball player, and Hannah, 14, who is enjoys weightlifting and volleyball. Heidi is employed as an escrow title agent. Holly lives in New Hampshire and works for the State of New Hampshire. She has a BA in Mental Health from Franklin Pierce College. She has coached basketball at both the recreation and high school levels
