Karl Quinn

A 1977 Farmington High school graduate, Karl was a four-sport standout for the Tigers in soccer, basketball, track and field and baseball. He was also the co-captain of the 1972-73 Farmington 500 junior high team that went 32-0 and won three tournaments. He played high school varsity soccer and basketball for four years and varsity baseball for two and track and field for one. He received numerous awards, including High School All-American honors for basketball in 1977, as well as team MVP, rebound and defensive awards. He averaged 13 points and 13 rebounds per game during his senior year. In soccer, he was a three-year co-captain and led Farmington to its best seasons ever, back-to-back trips to the tournament in 1975 and 1976, including wins both years in the first round of the tournament. Those teams went 11-3-0 and 10-2-2, respectively, the two best Farmington records in the NHIAA era. In 1975, karl was named team MVP and the Tigers won the conference title over perennial N.H. soccer power Oyster River, beating the Bobcats three times that season. He was also named All-State as a senior. Upon graduation, Karl was the recipient of the Benjamin Lewis Sportsmanship Award. He did a post-graduate year at Kimball Union Academy, playing three sports. He received all-state prep soccer honors, and set school records in track for the high jump and 120-yard high hurdles and 330-yard intermediate hurdles. He later attended Springfield College where he participated in JV and varsity soccer for two years and track and field for two years. He graduated with a BS in Adult Health and Fitness and received his MS Ed from Queen College in Flushing, N.Y.,  and  earned  an MBA from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn.  Karl lives in Stamford, Conn., with Nancy, his wife of 30 years. They have two daughters, Christine and Melanie.
